Mother Teresa (Agnes Gonxha Boyaxihu) who came from India and knelt before Pope Paul in the Vatican's Clementine Hall to receive the first Pope John XXIII peace prize, a statue of the Madonna and 10,000 pounds. She was given the prize for 26 years of helping destitute street dwellers, lepers and slum children in Calcutta.
